Pair of 17th century walnut Jacobean Dutch/Flemish dining chairs
Stunning pair of Jacobean period dining chairs in walnut. The intricate carving seems to indicate that they are Dutch or Flemish in origin. These are period pieces from the 17th century as opposed to later 19th century reproductions. They bear the numbers “11” and “12” under the seats which seem to indicate that they were dining chairs and once part of a set. The chairs have been treated for woodworm but the holes are still present. The structure of the chairs remains solid. Some damage to seats. It’s perfectly possible to sit in them. Provenance: They were kept in the attic of an old French château. The item “Pair of 17th century walnut Jacobean Dutch/Flemish dining chairs” is in sale since Tuesday, April 23, 2019.
